T: -What is London?
P: -It’s a capital of the United Kingdom.
T: - Today I want you to make a short trip to London. We must be divided into two teams. We’ll play the game “London Bridge”. Listen to the rules of the game: two leaders take each other hands, raise them and make a kind of arch. They stand facing each other. All the pupils form a line and go under the “bridge”, singing a song. The leaders must invent a password for each side. When pupils come up to the “bridge”, the leaders put down their hands so that pupils become “prisoners”. Then the “prisoners” choose a password. Our pupils are divided into two teams. Their names are … Now we can begin our journey.
III. At the Custom- House.
T: -We are going abroad and of course we must fill in application forms. Please, write down your name, surname, age, nationality and home address. Then take your application forms to the Custom- House. ( a song “My Bonnie”)
IV. In the plane.
T: -Look at the map of the British Isles. You will see that Britain is washed by the sea. So we may go to London by plane. It is very difficult to go abroad if you don’t know the language of the country, rules of behavior. While we are flying over the sea let us remember the rules. Please, read the rules and translate them into Russian.
1. Do not smoke.
2. Give up your seat to old people.
3. Do not pollute the water.
4. Keep of the grass.
5. Put the litter in the bin.
6.Don’t make noise!
V. London airport.
T: - The 1-st group will speak now how we can get to the centre of the city. Another group will speak about where to stay in London. ( Interview, work with cards, P1-P2, P3).
VI. London Zoo.
T: -We know how to behave yourselves, where we can stay and how to get there. About six hours have already passed. Our first stop is at London Zoo. It is one of the biggest zoo in the world. When you see the animals, tell us about them.( pupils describe animals).
VII. Lunch.
T: - Big Ben has struck one. It is the time for lunch. It is the English tradition to have lunch at one o’clock. Let’s go to the café and have a lunch there. Read the menu and order something for lunch. ( dialogues “Ordering the meal”)
VIII. Places of interest.
T: - Our next stop is:
1. The Tower of London.
2. The Trafalgar Square.
3. The Big Ben.
4. The Buckingham Palace. ( Pupils speak about interesting places in London).
IX. Conclusion.
T: - Our trip is over. I hope you enjoyed this journey. Thank you.
